Thomas “Tom” Albert Butler
May 29th, 1937 – September 5th, 2021
It is with great sadness to announce the sudden passing of our loving husband, dad, twin brother, grandpa and great-grandpa on Sunday, September 5th. He was a blessing to many people for 84 years of his life and is now in the presence of the Lord Jesus.
Tom was born in Victoria, BC on May 29, 1937 and lived his entire life in Trail, where he married Faith on August 31, 1963 and raised three daughters. Tom & Faith were able to celebrate their 58th Wedding Anniversary this year. Tom worked in the Hudson Bay Store for over 25 years and then in Zellers for 10 years before retiring. He will be remembered for his love of Jesus & the Word, camping with his wife & family, going on scenic drives in the Kootenays, swimming at Champion Lake, spending time with his family for birthdays and holidays, walking to Gyro Park with his twin brother and always wearing his favourite ball cap. He also had a great sense of humor and was often heard saying, “The truth will set you free and don’t worry be happy”. Tom was known for finding the positives in difficult situations & talking about his love for Jesus. He was a kind, loving, gentle, friendly man and will be deeply missed by his family and all those who knew him. We have been immensely blessed to have him in our lives & he will be forever in our hearts.
Tom is predeceased by his parents Tom & Neil Butler, sister Patricia Butler and twin brother Mike Butler. Survived by his wife Fay Butler, daughter Cheryl (Dennis) Venturini – Shaun & Isabella, daughter Michelle (Richard) Davis – Ryan (Reanna) Davis – Mila & Lincoln, Matt (Caitlin) Davis – Reya, Meagan Davis & daughter Barb (Vito) Romano – Liam.
A Graveside Service has already taken place at the Mountain View Cemetery. Gwen Ziprick of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ was entrusted with the arrangements. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in his memory to World Vision.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence.
