Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the Callahan Family announces the passing of their mother, Therese, at Cassellholme on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the age of 91.
Therese was predeceased by the love of her life, Thomas. She leaves behind her cherished family, Brian (Debbie), Barry (Julie), Michael (Patti), and Tom. Also survived by her grandchildren, Randy (Caro), Lisa, Kyle, Chad (Sonya), Travis (Jamie), Jake (Katie), Tim, Abby, Jillian (Marcin Beska), and Josh, as well as great grandchildren, Jaylee, Mylee, Kylee, Ellee, Titan, Maximus, Adam and Nina. Also survived by her Godchild, Nora Gallagher of Espanola.
Therese was predeceased by her parents, Oliva and Elzire Dionne. Survived by her siblings, Annette and Cecile. Predeceased by her siblings, Ernest, Rose Marie, Leo, Daniel, Pauline, Yvonne, Emilie, Marie, Oliva Jr., Victor and Claude.
Therese was a gifted musician, obtaining her Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Music. Her professional career consisted of teaching, which led to being a school principal as well as working for the Ministry of Education. Her passion for music consisted of playing piano as well as directing various choirs throughout the North Bay area. Her love of music was passed on to her children and grandchildren.
A dedicated mother and grandmother, she enjoyed gardening, knitting, as well as playing card games with her grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Tracy Davis for the comfort she brought to our mother as well as the nursing staff at Cassellholme.
The family will receive visitors at the McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Sunday February 28, 2021 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm (Due to Current Covid-19 Restrictions Attendance at a visitation is scheduled by appointment only. A private family funeral service will be conducted, ( please join us on our Facebook page McGuinty Funeral Home Limited on Monday March 1, 2021 at 10 a.m. for the service). Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Donations in memory of Therese to the Alzheimer’s Society or charity of choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
