On Thursday January 21, 2021 at Hamilton General Hospital: Taylor Brook Villeneuve died unexpectedly after a brief illness at the age of 40.
Taylor was born July 23, 1980 to Suzanne Ellen Burley (Jensen) and Daniel Villeneuve in Cornwall. He grew up in Prescott and Maitland attending St. Marks, St. Josephs and South Grenville schools. Following a brief move to Newfoundland he returned to Cornwall and graduated from General Vanier Secondary School.
A childhood accident robbed him of partial vision in one eye but that did not deter his ambitions. He was a natural athlete playing hockey, soccer and football; even playing for the Ottawa Sooners.
Taylor had an exceptional work ethic and several jobs in his short life. He was known for showing up early, working late and always ready for overtime. He was most passionate about his job as a long distance truck driver out of London that allowed him to see much of the USA and large parts of Canada. He was known for his love of Tim Hortons coffee and could be seen wearing shorts and sunglasses year round.
Most recently he was living and working in Hamilton. He dreamed of rebuilding a relationship with family and more importantly his children so that he could become a positive influence in their lives. His cohorts describe him as a polite, respectful and hard working, private man who cherished weekly phone calls with his mom.
Taylor was preceded in death by siblings Alysse, Bryson, grandmother Helen Burley and stepdad Rob Jensen.
He will be greatly missed as a beloved son, grandson to Ted Burley and Yvette Villeneuve, brother to Chris, Alex, Jordan and Kayleigh, father to MacKenzie MacDonald (Katie) and Alysse Dore (Carole), cousin, nephew and friend.
A celebration of life will be held on July 23, 2021 as pandemic conditions allow.
