Taylor Gardner
We are immensely saddened to announce that our son Taylor passed away suddenly on November 1st, 2021 surrounded by his family. Taylor, born April 12, 1997, in Pembroke ON was a gifted, bright, caring, and loving son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin and Godfather who carried the warmest heart that touched the souls of all who crossed his path. He loved playing hockey and snowboarding with his brother Mitchell, fishing with Bobby, and playing guitar with his father Craig. Taylor was looking forward to attending College with his sister Meg in January 2022. Even though Taylor was taken from us too soon, he was able to teach us so much in such a short amount of time, namely, to always look at the good side of life.
We are so happy to say that Taylor recently spent an amazing five weeks in Nova Scotia connecting with his Nana and Papa Fairhurst, his Grampie Gardner and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. We are all so very thankful that Taylor and his Nova Scotia family had this time.
Taylor was loved by his parents, Wanda (Mother) & Bobby Cruise, Craig (Father) & Andrea Schmaltz. He is survived by a loving group of family members. Siblings including Mitchell (Brother), Meaghan (Sister), and Justin Schmaltz (stepbrother). Grandparents, Eddy and Teddy Fairhurst NS, Marie-Andree Giroux, Quebec, Richard and Susan Schmaltz ON. Aunts, Cindy (Mel), Marlene (Darren), Tina (Guy), Dianne (Blake), Linda, Nancy (Kelly), Special Aunt Myrna and Aunt Frances, Amanda and Jason Schmaltz, Godson Braydyn. Special Cousins Andrew and Katie Vaughan, Aaron Culbert, Shannon Storey-Heffer (Doug) and Andrew Storey (Brianna).
Taylor was predeceased by paternal grandparents Arna and Murray Gardner, his special Aunt Deborah Cowley (Vancouver, BC) and Max.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to SPCA (ottawahumane.ca/donate/) and the Dave Smith Youth Treatment Center (davesmithcentre.org/philanthropy/ways-to-give/ ).
A private friends and family Celebration of Life will be held by invitation only.
