Peacefully passed on Monday, December 13, 2021, at the age of 96. Born in Selkirk, Ontario. Daughter of the late Melvin and Eva Stewart. Predeceased by her sisters, Irene Weaver, Clara Fess, and Leta Brown. Aunt of Gary Weaver, Donna (George) Morris, Earl (Denise) Weaver, Donald (Nancy) Fess, Lois (Bruce) Small, Larry (Judy) Brown, Earl (Helen) Brown, and Dianne (Mike) Mikoda. She will be deeply missed by many great nieces and nephews. Rhea was a teacher with the former London Board of Education in primary and special education, where she was a consultant in speech and language development for the hearing, visually, and physically challenged students in junior kindergarten to grade thirteen. Following retirement, Rhea committed her gifts and abilities to church leadership in various capacities. The family will receive friends at Oakridge Presbyterian Church, 970 Oxford Street West, London on Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Michael Stol officiating. Interment to follow the service at Selkirk Union Cemetery. Proof of double vaccination, as well as name and phone number will be required at the church to attend the visitation and service. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Rhea are asked to consider Oakridge Presbyterian Church.

Jane WilliamsI met Rhea after she had retired from teaching. She was a member of the Retired Women’s Teachers London/ Middle Branch. I always enjoyed chatting with Rhea. She had many entertaining stories to share from her teaching days. She will be missed.
