Stephen Stieb 2021

Stephen Stieb
Stephen Arthur Stieb
July 6, 1982 to September 12, 2021
On July 6, 1982 our baby brother, Stephen Arthur Stieb, was born. Stephen grew up on our family farm in Yankee Valley loving God’s creation. He loved animals and nature. Stephen always had time for friends and cousins who enjoyed roaming around the farm as boys along with the various family dogs, who often accompanied him on his adventures. Those adventures around the farm eventually grew into hikes at Little Red, quadding and snowmobiling with his kids Breeze and Bryson. Stephen was very proud of his children and wanted the best for them. He instilled his love of nature and music in them.
Stephen was a father, a son, a brother, an uncle, a cousin, a nephew and a friend. He found great joy in the company of friends and family, had a keen sense of humour and loved to make people laugh. He was incredibly intelligent. He had a gift to fix what was broken and enjoyed building many things. Examples he will be remembered for by his kids include a play apparatus, sand boxes, tree swings, quinzhee shelters and hills of snow to slide on.
At his core Stephen was kind and gentle. He was physically big and strong, though in reality he was a softy who loved to snuggle. Stephen developed a passion for hunting at an early age and was an excellent marksmen. He was also highly regarded in the construction industry whether it was managing the building of pipelines or helping with the project twinning the highway between Saskatoon and Prince Albert. Stephen had many great attributes, which we appreciate being reminded of in the messages we have received from friends and people who knew and loved him.
We are beyond devastated. Stephen struggled to deal with setbacks. As family members and the mother of his children were lost to tragedies it seemed as though addictions took a hold of him. Stephen’s final few years were devastating to witness and he was not the same person.
We never stopped loving you, Stephen. You will live in our hearts forever. We pray you are at peace with Grandma Opal and Papa Roy in Heaven. We grieve, yet find peace in God’s gift of Love.
An internment will happen at a later date when Stephen will be laid to rest at Honeywood Cemetery, near the Yankee Valley farm he loved.
If you choose, a fund for Stephen’s children, Breeze and Bryson, is being held in trust by Stephen’s siblings Shawn and Shannon, please make cheques payable to Shannon Schlamp and memo “In Trust for Breeze & Bryson”.
Stephen’s children ask that you listen to One Direction’s “Story of My Life”, and think of their Dad.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. -1 Corinthians 13:7-9
