MACH, Stan – Passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side at St. Catharines General Hospital on Saturday January 2, 2021 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Mary for 61 years. Loving father of Stan J. (Jan) Mach, Susan (Cameron Crassweller) Mach, John (Dawne) Mach and Joanne (Terry) Thomson. Caring grandfather of Stan H., Amanda, Adam, Mallory, Mara, Aidan, Jakob, Joshua, Mary and Tyler. Stan worked for 37 years for Bell Canada as a Technician, retiring in 1992. In his spare-time he enjoyed volunteering in the community, starting with the Jaycees where he became a senator and was awarded life membership status. Stan was also a lifetime member, past president and past zone chairman of the Stamford Lions Club where he worked tirelessly for minor hockey and Lions Radio Reading. He was also an active member of the St. Catharines Stamp Club. Stan’s family would like to thank Dr. Mackett, Dr. Quinn, Dr. Brown, Dr. Ciprietti and the entire staff of the St. Catharines General Hospital for the care he received.
Cremation has taken place. Due to current Covid-19 restrictions a private family service will be held at the MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls. A live stream of the funeral service will be at 2 pm on Thursday January 7, 2021 at www.facebook.com/morseandson. It is the family’s hope to be able to share an event celebrating Stan’s life in the future. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Niagara Health Foundation.
