Obituary of Shirley Pittman
It is with great sadness that the family of Shirley Pittman announce her peaceful passing at Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Saturday, January 23, 2021 in her 74th year.
Leaving to mourn with loving and precious memories are husband George of 51 years of marriage; son Sheldon Pittman (Susan) of St. John’s, Deanne van Wageningen (Michael) of Fall River, N.S., grandchildren Jared Pittman, Kiera Pittman, Kyran van Wageningen, Declan van Wageningen; siblings Nancy Lundrigan, Mary Matthews (Kevin), Boyd Brushett (Evelyn), Eric Brushett (Rhoda) plus a large circle of other family & friends.
Predeceased by parents Leonard & Adele Brushett, brother William Brushett and parents-in-law William & Theresa Pittman.
Family will be accepting visitors at Serenity Funeral Home, Burin on Sunday January 24, 2021 from 2-9 p.m.
Funeral mass will take place from Sacred Heart Church, Marystown on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 10 a.m. In keeping with Shirley’s wishes cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Burin Peninsula Health Care Foundation to the Chemo unit in memory of Shirley.
The maximum number of people permitted in the funeral home at one time is 20 people. All visitors must sign in and sign out for contact tracing purposes, and masks must be worn at all times. Hand sanitizer will be provided and is to be used upon entering and exiting the building. No food or beverages are permitted in the building. Thanking you in advance for respecting the regulations.
