Obituary
Heaven’s gain is our loss. We are deeply saddened by the passing of Shirley Emma Campbell (nee Brown) of Dunwich Township on August 31, 2021.
She is predeceased by her husband, Ronald Campbell, her son, Rob Campbell, brothers in law Donald Campbell, Robert Campbell and Duaine Nelson as well as her sister in law Alice Nelson.
Lovingly remembered by her daughters Susan (William) Mellis, Diane Campbell, Janice (Gregg) Gillingham, Elaine (Doug) Scott, and Pauline (Peter) Donaldson. Also remembered by sisters in law Shirley Campbell and Mary Campbell. Shirley is fondly remembered by her 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Shirley was born in Kingston, Ontario on September 17, 1931. She was raised on Amherst Island before moving to London, Ontario. It was after graduating from Victoria School of Nursing that she married a Dunwich Township farmer and became entwined in the rural lifestyle. She continued her nursing career at the Bobier Home, worked beside her husband on the farm and raised their family of six children.
She is remembered by all for her commitment to her church and community. Church functions at Chalmer’s United Church, Cowal, filled her free time, as well as the Wallacetown Fair Board. If you could find her at home, she was busy either gardening, painting or quilting.
She will always be remembered for her compassion and caring nature. She always put the needs of others before herself.
Donations can be made to the Wallacetown Fair Board or the Bobier Villa Auxilliary.
