It is with great sadness that we, the family of Sharon Iannetti, 71, announce her passing on Sunday, February 21, 2021, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, with her loving family by her side.
Born in Sydney Mines on December 19, 1949, Sharon was the daughter of the late Louis and Shirley (Giles) Iannetti.
Sharon retired from Memorial High School after teaching Hair Dressing there for many years. She was choir director at Holy Family Church, formerly St. Pius X, until retiring due to ill health. She also loved to participate in the Ride for the Cure on her motorcycle.
Sharon leaves behind her husband Brian MacFadden, George’s River, sister Diane, Florence, brother Kenneth (Lana), Florence, her special nephews Shawn and Kevin, several other nieces and nephews, and mother-in-law Joan.
Besides her parents, Sharon was predeceased by her brothers Donald Louis, and Arthur, and her nephew Chris.
Sharon’s family would like to thank Palliative Care, Dr. Coish in ER, and the doctors and nurses at the Cancer Centre.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 26, 2021, at 10 am in Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sharon’s memory may be made to St. Joseph Cemetery, Palliative Care or the Cancer Centre.
