It is with deep sorrow and so much love that the family of Serge announce his peaceful passing on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at the age of 61.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Lizette; his two sons, Serge Dicaire and Nick Dicaire (Samantha); his 3 stepchildren, Jayme Beland (Kelly), Ashley Pangilinan (John) & Jayson Beland; his 6 step-grandchildren, Makena, Kaden, Brylin, Cassidy, Macey & Maddox; his mother, Monique Bourgeois; his sisters Nathalie Dicaire & Johanne Dicaire; and so many dear friends.
Serge was predeceased by his father, Paul-Emile Dicaire.
In January 1980, Serge and 2 friends boarded a train to Alberta. He found work in Bonnyville & then Edmonton, painting & drywalling.
In September 1985, Serge moved to Grande Cache where he began his career as a Correctional Officer. He spent 22 years in Grande Cache with his wife, Laurie Dicaire & his boys. His love of nature was perfect in Grande Cache – Hunting, fishing, camping, and golfing.
For a few years Serge was a part of an International Dinner Club – friends getting together once a month and preparing a five-course meal from a different country each time. Serge’s love of cooking was well known by all his friends, the fancier the better!
In 1990 his first son was born – Serge Jr. and then in 1994 his second son was born – Nicholas. He was always so proud of his boys! He passed his love of nature onto the boys.
In late 2008, Serge & Lizette met in Grande Prairie. They moved back to Edmonton in 2010, where all their children and grandchildren were. On August 23, 2014, Serge and Lizette were married. Here they carried on their love of motorcycle riding together and thoroughly enjoyed both short & long trips wherever the road took them!!
Serge began his own Renovation Company in Edmonton and then switched gears to become Director of Bilingual Communications with Synergy Technology Solutions on Dec. 1, 2017. He absolutely loved his new career which brought him back into contact with many friends from his career in Corrections.
Serge’s humor, compassion, deep love for family and giving heart will be remembered forever!
A Celebration of Serge’s Life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home in St. Albert, 9 Muir Drive. Connelly-McKinley will be exclusively participating in the exemption program. Please note government issued photo ID and proof of vaccination via QR code or, a negative COVID test in the last 72 hours is required upon entry.
