BON, Serena (nee Bin)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Serena Bon on Tuesday July 13, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Massimo Bon (2012). Loving mother of Nancy (Alan) Figgins and Diana (Bruce) Pickering; proud and doting nonna to Lauren, Alayna (Elliott), Noah and Olivia. Beloved sister of Vittorino (Italy) and predeceased by her parents Simone and Maria Bin and siblings Olema, Fermo, Vanfrido (Italy) and Amelia, Alcide, Luigi and Ido (Argentina). Serena emigrated to Canada in 1956 together with her husband Massimo. She built a full life centered around her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed travelling, sewing, socializing with friends and doing community work. Cooking and sharing meals with friends and family were her greatest joys. She was an active member of the Fogolar Furlan’s Women’s Association and the Lega Istriana of Chatham. The family would like to thank Seasons Amherstburg for their extraordinary care and compassion this past year. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., on Friday July 16, 2021 from 2-4:30pm and 7-9pm. Parish prayers Friday at 4:30pm. Friends will be received for the Funeral Mass on Saturday July 17, 2021 at 10am at Most Precious Blood Church (1947 Meldrum Rd.) Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Reservations are required to attend the Church, Prayers and Cemetery. Please call Windsor Chapel between the hours of 8:30am and 4:00pm to secure a reservation. 519-253-7234. Masks are required at all times. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society.
