It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Ruth on Thursday December 16, 2021 at the age of 95 years.
Ruth was born in Dalum, Denmark to loving parents Frederik and Ella Jorgensen. Along with her two sisters Anna and Rigmor, Frederik and Ella brought their family to Canada and settled in Redcliff, Alberta where Ruth met her husband of 62 years Leo Grose. Ruth was passionate about her family, piano, golf, tennis, the Blue Jays and the Calgary Flames. She worked at the Redcliff Dominion Glass Plant, married Leo in 1948 and raised their 3 children in Southern Alberta, eventually retiring in Calgary, Alberta. Ruth and Leo loved to travel to Utah, Arizona and California for golf, and she was able to return to Denmark to visit family and friends over the years.
Ruth was predeceased by her beloved husband Leo, her father Frederik, mother Ella and sisters Anna and Rigmor. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Alan Grose, Catherine (Rick) McCracken and Connie (Paul) Nelligan; grandchildren Jennifer Grose, Keith (Leah) Grose, Daneen Olson, Alison (Rolland) McCracken and Brittany Nelligan; as well, five great grandchildren Noah, Chloe, Sophie, Mykelti, Declan; brother-in-law Harvey (Lona) Grose; cousin Karen Justesen and many, many nieces, nephews and friends.
A family and friends celebration of life will be held in the summer for Ruth and Leo in Redcliff.
