It is indeed with broken hearts we the family announce the passing of Ruthie Ferguson on March 19th. 2020 at the palliative care unit at the CBRH after a very brave and courageous short battle with cancer.
Born in Sydney on January 7th. 1944 she was the daughter of the late George “G.A” and Mary (Steele)McQueen.
Ruth enjoyed being a stay at home mom to ‘the boys’ and in later years worked in retail greeting everyone with such a beautiful smile and her warm personality. She so enjoyed her seven grandchildren and had a special bond with each one of them.
Ruth is survived by her three sons, Kevin (Michelle), Kenny(April ), Paul (Darlene ), grandchildren Craig (Stephanie), Sean (Alyssa), Alyssha aka Miss Kardashian(Jordon), Stephen (Shannon), Sarah (Brad), Mckaleb (Taylor) and Kionti, six great grandchildren and three on the way, sister’s Gail Muise, Sharon McQueen (Terry Deveaux), brothers Grant (Brenda), Gary(Natalie), brothers-in-law Earl Publicover, Joe Ferguson, sister-in-law Adia McQueen and many nieces and nephews who all loved Aunt Ruthie.
Besides her parents Ruth was predeceased by her husband Ewen, sister Marilyn Publicover, brother Parker McQueen, stepbrother Bruce McQueen and brother-in-law Sandy Muise.
A private family Funeral service will be held Tuesday in Sydney Memorial Chapel. Interment will take place at a later date. The service can be viewed at 2 pm on the Sydney Memorial Chapel Facebook Page.
There are not enough words to express our gratitude to the Doctors, nurses and staff at Palliative Care and the Cancer Unit of the CBRH…THANK YOU ALL.
