RUN «May»‘s Obituary
Run “May” Xiao Zhou was born in Kaipan, China on July 18, 1949. May married Yao Tse in 1969. As a result of Yao working in the city, May raised their three daughters; Diana Cooke (grandson; Christian), Cora Tse (Hai Cao and granddaughter; Jadyn), and Daisy Tse.
In 1981, the family immigrated to Saskatchewan to seek a better life. Together they worked and owned restaurants in several communities that included; Unity, Saskatoon, Conquest and Wadena. They took away many fond memories from each location and built many lasting friendships with customers in those communities. Upon retirement in 2000, May and Yao moved to Saskatoon and spent time in Calgary to help with their daughter’s business. May enjoyed gardening, walking, cooking, baking, sewing, ping pong, and playing the Wii (Hula hooping was one of her best events).
Over the years May hosted many friends and family in the family home to her delicious cooking and baking. Family meant everything to May and she was very proud of her daughters and grandchildren. May will be dearly missed by all.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at the Royal University Hospital in the Oncology department for the care they gave May.
May’s viewing will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021 from 6:00-8:30pm and her funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 10:00am at Hillcrest Funeral Home (210 Wess Road, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan).
Following the funeral service, the family would like to invite all in attendance to join them for a reception in the Arbor Lounge at Hillcrest Funeral Home.
