Ronald “Ronnie” Curran
At the age of 66, passed away suddenly on June 29th, 2021 in Edmonton, Alberta. Ron was born in Chesterville on April 20, 1955. He was the son of the late Donald Curran and the late Ada Sharkey. He went to high school at North Dundas High School. He moved to Edmonton in 1995 where he worked as a construction worker for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping. He enjoyed helping people less fortunate with home improvement projects and repairs. He was involved in volunteer work with Mustard Seed of Edmonton. He was a long-time member of the Legion. Ron is survived by his sisters, Muriel Curran of Ottawa and Marie Curran of Osgoode and his former spouse Karen Bingham of Ottawa. He leaves behind his children, Jason (Katie), Heather (Theodore) and Andrew of Ottawa as well as his grandchildren Teagan and Fiona. He also leaves behind nephews Darryl Hughes (Rebecca) of Ottawa and Derrick Stewart (Jessica) of Vancouver. He was predeceased by his first wife Debbie Stewart. Our hearts are broken with the loss of Ron. He was a beautiful soul full of kindness and compassion and generosity. The family wishes to thank the ICU unit of the Royal Alex Hospital in Edmonton. We also want to thank our family and friends for their love and support during this most challenging time. Service will be held at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Chesterville on July 23rd at 2:00 p.m. with Father Cyril Chibuzor Duru officiating. Interment will follow.
