It is with
great sadness that the family of Roger Louis Chenard (74), son of the
late Gerard and Rosaline Chenard, passed away suddenly in the hospital
on the 21st of November surrounded by his
loving family. He was born in 1947 in Tracadie,
NB.
He attended
Université de Moncton for a degree in Business
Administration and then moved to Quebec City to receive his Masters at
Université Laval. He returned to Moncton in 1971
to teach at U de M for the next 27 years. He was Vice-Dean
for 5 years and department Head of the Faculty of Administration for 3
years.
He me this
wife Debbie in 1974 and they were married the following
year. They made their home in Moncton.
Roger will
forever live in the hearts of Debbie (his wife of 46 years), their
three children Monique (Andy), Laura (Kenny), David (Jenny), and their
precious granddaughters Emma and Olivia. He leaves behind
his brothers Marcel (Jeanette), Bernie (Denise), sister Giselle
(Vernon), and sisters-in-law Lucille (Jean-Paul), Bernadette Chenard,
Eileen LeBlanc, and many nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased by his brothers Jean-Claude, Conrad, and
Vincent.
Roger was a
very quiet man who loved his family so much. He enjoyed
cooking for them at many family fathers held at his home. He
loved going to P.E.I to drive potato trucks alongside the digger with
his in-laws and visiting the family cottage on the island where he
appreciated the peacefulness. He was a proud member of the
Mazda Miata Club and took his wife Debbie on many long
drives. On any given day you could find Roger feeding his
birds in the yard, reading, or doing his daily crossword puzzles with
a Tim`s coffee in hand. In the evenings maybe gazing
through his telescope, as he was a space
enthusiast.
Arrangements have been
entrusted to Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton
(858-1995).
At his
request there will be no funeral or visitation. The family
would appreciate donations to be made to the food Depot Alimentaire
(fooddepot.ca) in
