Born Liverpool, England April 12, 1934. Died Brantford, Ontario August 11, 2021
Roger was the son of the late Kenneth and Adeline (née Gordon) Mossop and is survived by his sister Helen Russell (John) of Vancouver and brother Charles Mossop (Louise) of Parksville, B.C. He was deeply loved and will be missed by his wife of 64 years Patricia (née Renfrew), his son Rowley Mossop (Donald), daughter Nicola Roy (Bruce), grand-daughter Elizabeth Bronsveld and great-grandchildren Lillia and Alice, and grandson Jeremy.
Roger emigrated to Canada with his parents and graduated from the University of British Columbia where he met his future wife, Patricia. The newlyweds spent two years traveling, studying and working in Mexico. On their return Roger began his career as a journalist with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in Vancouver, later moving to Toronto to work in the CBC’s national radio newsroom. His career spanned the heyday of radio journalism, and Roger was proud of his role in covering some of the most important events of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. He retired to Rockwood, Ontario when he and Pat enjoyed all that rural life had to offer.
Please consider a contribution to your favorite charity in Roger’s honour.
