Obituary
It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Robert Louey on May 14th, 2021. Bob passed away at his home peacefully with his wife of 57 years by his side in Lethbridge, Alberta.
Robert is survived by his wife Susan (Friesen) Louey, his four children Deborah Daub, Wanda Fleury (Wade), Warren Louey (Sharon), and Kevin Louey (Linda). Bobby was also graced with 8 grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. Bobby is also survived by sisters, Irene Gareau, Laura Clay, and many nieces and nephews.
Bobby was predeceased by his parents Chow Louey, Lee Ying, brothers Harry, Harvey, Henry, and sisters Margaret and Betty.
Bobby was born in Pincher Creek, Alberta on August 21st, 1930. Bobby’s family owned and operated the City Café for years on Main Street. Bobby spent time in the Canadian Army stationed in Ontario as a cook before moving to Lethbridge where he met the Love of his Life Susie. Bobby became a journeyman Plumber/Pipe Fitter working with the Lethbridge School Board and on some of Lethbridge’s most recognized buildings like the Sportsplex Sports and Entertainment Arena.
Bobby and Susie retired at the age of 55, and became the ultimate Snowbirds, living 6 months a year in Sunny Arizona, one of his lifelong dreams. They were graced with good health and spent 26 years enjoying retirement life south. Another one of Bobby’s favorite places was Kalispell, MT. He spent many happy hours drinking beer, eating peanuts and ham sandwiches at Moose’s Saloon.
Due to current health restrictions a Celebration of Bobby’s life will be arranged at a later date, this summer.
