Robert’s Obituary
SILVER, Robert Carl ~ age 65 of Inglisville, NS passed away unexpectedly at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, NS on Monday December 27, 2021 surrounded by his family. Born at home in Nictaux he was a son of the late Frank and Myrtle (Lupton) Silver. Robert worked for years in the woods then was a Custodian for many years with the Annapolis Valley School Board retiring from Lawrencetown Consolidated School. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved his camp, hunting and fishing and spending time with his grandchildren at the tree house or on the sledding hill. Robert enjoyed bird watching and making people laugh. He loved his family very much and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. Robert volunteered and participated in the local rec hockey and softball leagues for many years, where he was known as “Old Man River”. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Marie (Ruggles), Inglisville; his daughters, Alicia (Bruce) Colburne, Prince George, BC and Amy (Kirk) Spicer, Paradise; sons, Matthew (Nina) Silver, Bonnyville, AB; Kyle (Athena) Silver, Upper Granville and Jeffrey Silver, Inglisville; sisters, Louise (Orland) Bayers, Sackville, NS; Jean Hudson, Prince George, BC; brothers, Frank (Ellen) Silver, Deep River, ON; David Silver (Tammy Williams), Greenwood; Roy Silver, Ontario; Timothy Silver and Thomas Silver, both of Dartmouth; grandchildren Heidi, Dillan, Wyatt, Keiller, Alyssa, Jada, Jaxon, Ethan and Lucas; mother-in-law, Elsie Ruggles, Inglisville; sister-in-law, Joanne Silver, Deep River, ON; brother-in-law, Andy (Susanne) Ruggles, South Williamston and their children Brittany and Gregory and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Shirley Crouse, Ruth Parsons, Ellen Silver; brother Kenneth; two siblings in infancy and father-in-law Garnet Ruggles. In keeping with Robert’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
