Obituary of Robert « Bruce » Graves
It is with great sadness that the family of Bruce Graves announces his passing which occurred at his home on February 2, 2021. Born in Saint John, NB, on May 11, 1945, he was a son of the late Robert and Edith (Blanchette) Graves.
Bruce worked for the Saint John Drydock and Shipbuilding, Local #3 for 35 years as a heavy equipment operator. He had a passion for hockey, especially for his favourite team, the Montreal Canadiens. He enjoyed collecting coins, rocks, and spending time in his garage going through the collectibles he had. Bruce was an outdoorsman and loved every minute he spent hunting and fishing. He also had a sweet tooth for pumpkin pie. Bruce loved his family, and he cherished every moment they spent together. He will forever be loved and missed.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Marie (Basque); daughter, Liza (Chris); son, Robert (Cherry); sister, Valerie; grandchildren, Dominique, Mya, Adena, Christopher, Brianna, Noah; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bruce was predeceased by his brother, Brian; sisters, Lois, and Claire; grandson, Matthew; father-in-law, Hormisdas Basque.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB. (634-7424) A private visitation and service will take place via invitation only. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Bruce may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick.
