Obituary
With heavy heart and deep sadness, we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.
Dick is survived by his children Harriet and her family, Wyatt (Tasha) their children Riley and Nate, Zane (Ashley), Steven and his children Corbin, Maddie and Olivia. Jesse (Linda) and his family Travis (Rae) their children Sage, Allie and Shane, Leah (Lance) their children Brynlee, Harley, Lexie, Presley and Shilo, Jared (Keisha) their children Weston and Ariah, Ashley (Sterling) their children Emily and Wace. Wesley (Leanne) and his family Jolene (Kyle) their children Kenzie and Cole, Calib and his daughter Lucia, Kyle (Jenn) their children Kyson, Jordan and Drayana, Jami (David) their children Caitlyn and Travis, Jessica and her daughter Jorgia. Lana (Gus) and their daughter Donita (wade).
He was predeceased by his loving wife Nova and his daughter Denise, his brother Kenneth McKie and his wife Florence. Dick is also survived by his brother Alton (Gus), sister Gloria (Curt) Kruger and their families, sisters-in-law Adelia (Jack) Wade and Konita (Stan) Stout; as well as many many nieces and nephews and treasured friends.
Dick was a farm boy at heart, he married the love of his life Nova August 8,1951. Dick started working for the Shell Canada in 1956 at the Jumping Pound Plant, he then transferred to the Shell Waterton Gas Plant in 1961 and retiring in 1991.
Dick was a very hard working, kind and generous man, always a smile on and a hello to everyone even strangers. Dick was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was very active in his community, lots of clubs and organizations. Dick was a real softy for kids of all ages, especially his family. Milkshakes and homemade ice-cream were his signature, it never took much to talk anyone into joining him into one, especially his grandkids. Dick was one of the first Axillary RCMP in Alberta, for which he took great pride in.
A big void will be left in the lives of all who knew him.
The family would like to thank Dr. Rommens and the Pincher Creek Health System for all the excellent care over the years. Lee Crest, Cardston and Vista Village, Pincher Creek where they all treated him with loving care and kindness.
