It is with great sadness the family of Richard (Richie) Dalton, aged 68, announce his sudden passing on December 23, 2021.
Predeceased by his parents Genevieve and Ronald Dalton, sister Patricia Winter, brother’s in-law Kerry St. Croix and Wayne Winter and niece Susan Gardner.
Leaving to mourn with loving memories, his children, Ricky and Shawn (Ashley), his two grandsons Nicholas and Jacob, whom he adored. Siblings Anne Marie O’Brien (Ambrose), Mary Gardner (Brian), Frank Dalton (Florence), Nora Aylward (Joe), Fred Dalton (Kaye) Gerald Dalton (Angela), Alice Brinston (Tom), Barbara St. Croix and Cecil Dalton (Tammy).
Richie will also be missed by a large circle of extended family as well as many close friends whom he often visited along the shore. Richie also had many friends from Cape Broyle Sea Products where he worked for over thirty years.
Richie was a great father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was always the first to lend a helping hand when needed and always with a smile on his face. He will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Funeral service to take place from Immaculate Conception RC Church, Cape Broyle, on Friday, December 31, 2021 at 1:00pm. Due to Public Health restrictions, attendance in church will be by invite only. All are encouraged to fill the church parking lot as well as join us at Our Lady of the Cape Cemetery, Cape Broyle, as we lay Richie in his final resting place.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
God holds him forever in his hands.
We hold him forever in our hearts.
