It is with great sadness that the family of Richard Fred Wamboldt, 75 of Clearland, announces his passing on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the QE II Health Sciences Centre, VG Site, Halifax.
Born in Bridgewater, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Grace (Emeneau) Wamboldt.
Richard worked all of his working life in the fishing industry, beginning in earlier years with Pierce Fisheries, Clearwater and then prior to his retirement in Shelburne with Clearwater.
He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, working around his home, spending quality times with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he adored and was fondly known as “Poppy”
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Richard is survived by his wife, Cheryl Mader of 56 years, daughter, Tammy Wamboldt (David Veinot),Oakhill , son, Dwayne (Brenda) of Clearland; grandchildren, Brogan (Nikki) and Connor (Amelia); great grandchildren, Bentley and Meadow and extended great grandchildren, Evan, Liam and Jace.
He was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Lohnes and a brother, Russell Wamboldt.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg, where a service to celebrate Richard’s life will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Clearland.
Proof of Covid-19 vaccination and masking will be required.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hillside Cemetery, Clearland, Lunenburg County VON or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.
