Richard Fred Davenport
February 25, 1938 – November 14, 2021
On Sunday, November 14, 2021, loving husband, father, grandfather, great
grandfather and friend, Richard (Rich) Davenport passed away peacefully at his
home in Halifax, Nova Scotia at the age of 83. He is survived by his wife and
soulmate Donna (Seymour) Davenport of Halifax and brother Bill Runions of Pinole,
California. He is also survived by several children and family members in Nova
Scotia and California.
Rich leaves behind 10 children.
Tami (deceased), (Steve) , Richard (Dawn). Billy, Julie (Carl), Troy, Sandra
(deceased), Debra (Jamie),
Tommy (Amanda), Danielle (Ruby), Craig (Marilisa), Kirk (Melissa), and Karen
He leaves behind 19 Grandchildren.
Kristina, David, Ashley, Cory, Ben, Alexis, Emilee, Mitchell, Hayley. Nora, Donna
Vaeda, Baby Willis, Jun, Alisa. Kelli, Josh, Brianna, Julia and Jessica
He also had 8 Great Grandchildren
Taylor, Noah, Chloe, Haley, Aiden, Nolan, Addison, and Kayden
He was known as Poppop by grandchildren and great grandchildren and many other
children. Children loved him for his kindness and gentle ways.
Rich was born near Albuquerque, New Mexico and spent his early years in Oregon.
He spent his youth in Richmond and Pinole, California. Rich played the violin and
developed a love of music.
He spent many years as an ambulance attendant and went on to drive trucks for
Yellow Freight. He was an active member of the Teamsters’ Union
During his retirement years he spent a lot of time visiting with and enjoying his
grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as driving between California and
Nova Scotia. He loved the open road and visited friends and family during his and
his wife’s travels. He will be remembered as a kind and gentle earth angel by all who
knew him.
Services will be held at a later date to be announced.
