Reno was born in Trail on May 16, 1938 and grew up in the Gulch. He took his apprenticeship as a machinist and worked at Cominco for 35 years in the Machine Shop and Instrument Shop. In his early years he enjoyed skiing at Red Mt., water skiing and boating at Christina Lake, golfing, and curling. He travelled extensively across Canada, the States, Europe and East Africa with sister, Anita. In 1966 he met April Hall at the Trail Curling Rink and eventually married in 1983-we didn’t want to rush into things.
We moved out to Fruitvale and made many friends in the BV through curling and especially golfing at Champion Lakes in retirement.
Reno was quiet, kind, and thoughtful- a real gentle man. He enjoyed the Senior Curling in Trail especially with his long-time friend, Cliff. His coffee group with Erle, Gylie, and Art solved the world’s problems every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Subway.
Reno was always very close to family.
He was predeceased by his parents Valentino & Teresa, his sister, Anita Titsworth, and his in-laws, Elmer (Bunny) & Helen Hall. He passed away peacefully in his sleep in hospital just before he was to be released to come home. He is survived by his loving wife, April, his brother-in-law, Gordon Titsworth, nephews Geoffrey (Amy Shields-Jendaya & Ellery) and Colin (Violet Bain-Tilia), and his sister-in-law, Heather Hall.
By Reno’s request, there will be no service.
