WATT, Raymond Francis Sr. (June 5, 1944- August 11, 2021) –
It is with great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our much-loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Raymond Francis Watt Sr., of Delhi, on Wednesday, August 11th, 2021, at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe, at the age of 77. Raymond was born in Lanark, Ontario to the late Gordon and late Carmel (Desjardin) Watt. Many will remember Raymond for his loving of card playing, often between the Delhi District German Home, the Delhi Royal Canadian Legion Branch 125, and at various friendship clubs. Loving and much-loved husband of 57 wonderful years to Mary L. (nee Haskett) Watt, of Delhi. Together, they devotedly raised their children: Raymond ‘Ray’ Watt Jr., of Delhi; René Watt, of Simcoe; and Maria Marshall, of Waterford. Always a caring grandfather to Joshua Watt, Everett Watt, Sarah Windsor (Christopher), Natasha Smith (Robert Feere), Brian Smith, and Matthew Marshall. Lovingly remembered by his special great-grandchildren Quintin, Jaxon, Bella, and Christopher Jr. Survived by his siblings Elaine Hodge (Ken), of North Augusta; Gary Watt (Vicky), of Gananoque; as well as by his in-laws Louis Haskett (late Blanche), of Delhi; Joseph Haskett (Lucy), of RR7 Simcoe; Margaret Janssens (late Robert), of Simcoe; Virginia White (Thomas), of Simcoe. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by his brothers Arnold Watt (late Hilda); James Watt (survived by Helen, of Prescott); also predeceased by in-laws Lloyd Haskett, Della Walker (late Tom), Frank Haskett (late Donna), Lillian Haskett, and John Haskett.
A private family visitation of remembrance will take place on Saturday, August 14th, 2021, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes- Burial and Cremation Services Inc. Chapel, 262 Broadway Street, Tillsonburg. All attendees must always wear a mask and social distancing guidelines are to be followed. In keeping with Raymond’s expressed wishes, cremation follows with later inurnment to take place in the Watt Family Plot in the Delhi Cemetery.
