It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Percy, due to a massive stroke, at the age of 86. Percy and Jean were 20-year residents at Parker Cove. They spent the beginning of their retirement traveling the Baja in Mexico and 8 years snow birding in Yuma, Arizona. They had great travels together. He always had stories and jokes to tell and his “Percyisms” will leave us with lasting laughs and unforgettable memories of good times. Percy was a long-time employee at BC Hydro. He was a dedicated member of the BC Hydro Power Pioneers, The Armstrong Legion, The Kalamalka Fly Fishing Club and the Probus Club of Vernon. He met and kept in contact with his many lifelong friends along the way. He was an avid fisherman, a hunter in his earlier years, only read books based on fact, and always enjoyed a good game of pool. Percy was well loved and will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Percy is survived by Jean, his loving wife of 35 years, his sons Jean-Marc Chamberland and Peter Chamberland (Mary) and grandsons Jason and Joseph. He is also survived by Jean’s children Sheryl (Keith) and their children Bridget and Virginia, and Leah (John) and their children Kendra and Kyle and aunty Florence Wall. He leaves behind one sister, Cristelle of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. Percy was predeceased by his daughter Helené, grandson Stephen, and 7 siblings. The family would like to thank the nurses and Dr. Martin from ER and Michelle and James from the 7th floor at VJH for their kindness and compassion. Cremation has taken place and no service will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations in Percy’s name can be made to The Armstrong Legion or The Parkinson’s society of British Columbia.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Percy Joseph Laurier Chamberland August 7th 2021..
