It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we, the family, announce the peaceful passing of Diane (Lahey) Peinsznski on Friday, November 12, 2021, at Seaview Manor in Glace Bay.
Diane kept a very positive attitude during her brief battle with cancer. She had an incredible love for her family and many close friends. She was an amazing daughter, wife, sister, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Diane was employed in the fishery for many years before finding her calling helping others as a CCA with the County Homemakers, a job she really enjoyed for the past 18 years. She enjoyed gatherings with her family and friends and nights with the grandkids watching movies and eating take out.
Diane is survived by her loving son, Jamie; grandchildren, Jonathan, Ciara and Layla; mother, Evangeline ‘Vangi’ Lahey; brothers, Wayne (Doreen), Maurice (Florence), Lawrence (Aileen), Kenny (Jackie), Kevin, Basil (Karen), and Darren; in-laws, Paula (Charlie), Donna (Donnie), Glenda and Danny; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Diane was predeceased by her husband, John; father, Maurice and brothers, Tom and Billy.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, the cancer centre and the palliative care unit and a special thank you to the staff of Seaview Manor in Glace Bay for their passionate and loving care and their great support for Diane and her family during her short stay.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service to celebrate the life of Diane Peinsznski will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.), Whitney Pier on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. Covid protocols will be practiced at the service.
