Pearl Elizabeth Horne
1933-2021
Horne – The death occurred
peacefully, surrounded by family at the Prince County Hospital,
Summerside, PE on April 20, 2021 of Pearl Elizabeth Horne, aged 87
years. Pearl was born August 15, 1933 in Rosebank to her
late parents, James and Minnie (Sentner) MacArthur. Beloved wife of
Arnold Horne and loving mother to Lurlean (Robert) Palmer of
Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by her grandsons
Christopher (Terri Lynn) and Jeffery Palmer of Summerside, her sister
Shirley (Rev. Harry) Waugh of Hartland, NB, her brother-in-law William
(Sue) Moir of Orlando, Fla., her nieces Darla, Heidi and Marilyn and
her nephews Bruce, Mark and Darren. Besides her parents, Pearl was
predeceased by her husband, Arnold Horne. Pearl left the farm in
Rosebank and moved to Summerside to finish her education.
She was employed at the Journal Pioneer in advertising and then later
acquired a position at Holman’s Department Store as a buyer
for children’s clothing and women’s
accessories. She loved the many trips to Montreal to
purchase for the upcoming season. Her and Arnold enjoyed their life to
the fullest and spent time travelling to various places sometimes on
their Yamaha motorcycle. Their faith and love of music
called them to the church and they worked side by side tirelessly to
bring the Salvation Army to Summerside. She was happiest when
surrounded by family and friends and will always be remembered for her
kind and giving nature. Resting at Moase Funeral Home, Summerside,
where a private family service will be held. A
