LEROY PAULSON
November 5, 1936 – December 13, 2021
Leroy passed away at the age of 85 after a brief cancer illness at the U of A Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Janice of 61 1/2 years and his children Shelley (John); Barry; Darcy (Char) Cory, Hannah, Ethan, Cam, Kensi; Jody (Emil) Brooklynn, Jaden, Kaydee; Kelly (Rob) Makenna, Mattea; sister Susie, as well as numerous family and friends. Leroy was predeceased by his parents Hugo & Myrtle, brothers Ken and Cliff.
Leroy was born on November 5, 1936 in Bawlf. He attended school in Bawlf and worked at a young age carrying water for neighbours, delivering groceries, and working on the rigs. Leroy had a love of new & old vehicles including his Harley, Yamaha Ventura and orange Scooter.
Leroy & Janice were married on April 30, 1960. They lived in Hay Lakes where Leroy was a Pacific Grain Buyer before moving to Camrose where Leroy had many jobs and businesses. In 1973, they moved to Leduc purchasing Midalta Lumber. In 1980’s, they started Paulson Homes Ltd, building custom homes around Leduc and area. This was Leroy’s biggest career achievement. Leroy retired as Maintenance Manager, International Airport Customs Terminal.
They traveled with their fifth wheel across Canada and USA & Alaska and trips to Australia, China, Cuba, Europe, Greece, Turkey & United Kingdom and cruises.
Leroy & Janice enjoyed spending time with family, friends and their church community where Leroy was a Charter Knight of Columbus.
Leroy will be missed by his family, friends and community. Love is God’s greatest gift to them.
