Obituary for Pauline McLean
Lettisha “Pauline” McLean (nee Strangway), passed away peacefully, with family by her side at Fiddicks Nursing Home on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the age of 90. Pauline is predeceased by her husband James (2001), daughter Victoria Ross (1976), son-in-Law Bill Holden (2016), grandson Neil Holden (2002), granddaughter Nina Holden (2013), brother Grant Strangway (2016) and sister-in-law Edith Strangway (2017). Pauline was very active in retirement and enjoyed card games and coffee breaks with her many friends and companions at the Sandpiper Condo Development in Sarnia. She loved having family and friends visit and always had coffee ready to be served for whomever stopped in. She ensured her loved ones were brought together every year by hosting large Christmas parties where she insisted on Bingo games being played by all (young and old) so everyone could win one of the many prizes she thoughtfully shopped for throughout the year; a tradition that will certainly live on for future generations to come. Pauline is survived by her son-in-law Doug Ross, children Patricia (Paul) Bellemore, Nancy Holden, Stephen (Kathleen) McLean, grandchildren Eva (Joel) Field, Jennifer (Phil) Szucs, Tara (Mike) Lachappelle, Angela (Mike) Murphy, Amy Bellemore, Robbie (Suzanne) St. Pierre, Ken St. Pierre, Naomi Holden, Lauren (Dean) Minielly, Ben McLean, Jackie (Derek) McLean, great-grandchildren Tyler, Hannah, Adrienne, Chloe, Tessa, Jade, Luke, Olivia, Dakota, Faith, James, Lilly, Stella, sister Helen (Ron) Robinson and good friend June McFadden. The family would like to extend their thanks to the caring staff at Fiddicks Nursing Home and Dr. Li Wan Po for their compassionate care in Pauline’s final days. Memorial donations can be made to the Diabetes Canada (www.diabetes.ca) or the Heart & Stroke Foundation (www.heartandstroke.ca). Cremation has taken place and a private graveside service at Shetland Cemetery will be arranged for the family at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Needham Jay Funeral Home, Petrolia www.needhamjay.com.
