Paul’s Obituary
Paul was born on December 16, 1927, in Wadena, Sask. He was the 7th of twelve children. At the age of four, his mother passed away. For a few years, he was in the care of a stepmother then at the age of seven he went to live with his dad’s brother Harry. Paul attended a country school until the age of fifteen. He then stayed home and worked on the farm for his uncle. At the age of sixteen he left his uncle’s home to work at various jobs from farm work to road construction to bush work in the winter months. In 1952, he enrolled in a barber course. Upon completion he went to work in Nipawin, Sask. It was there he met his future wife, Ida Fombeur. They were married in August of 1955. Their son Brad was born in Jan of 1960. On June 2, 1960, Paul was saved at a revival. Paul’s relationship with the Lord was important to him. He led by example and was a witness to many. He was actively involved with the Gideon’s ministry for many years. In 1971, Paul concluded studies from the U. of R. in Local Government Administration and worked first in School Business Administrator and then as a Municipal Government Administrator until his retirement in 1992. Upon his retirement, Paul drove school bus and did carpenter work until he and Ida moved to Medicine Hat Chinook Village in Oct, 2015. He loved to visit his family in Moose Jaw and enjoyed the fellowship at the Hillcrest Church. Paul was predeceased by his parents Stephan (Steve) and Dora (Chorney), his stepmother Olga (Remusowsky) brothers Jim, Mikeal, Earnest, Wm.(Bill) Nick, and John, sisters Kay, Verna ,Doris, and half-brother Joseph, Alex and Stanley. He is survived by his wife Ida, son Brad (Laurie), grandsons Cody (Sarah), Marty (Chelsea), sister Mary, brother Steve, and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gideon’s, or a charity of your choice. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday June 19, 2021 at 2:00PM.
