Patrick Fergus Moher Friday January 29th 2021

Patrick Fergus Moher (April 4, 1947 – January 29, 2021)
We lost a great man on January 29, 2021. At the age of 73, Pat Moher passed away peacefully at Mackenzie Health in Richmond Hill of congestive heart failure. His daughters were by his side and his wife was in his thoughts. He is remembered fondly by family, friends and colleagues. Pat’s list of accomplishments are nothing short of remarkable with love of family planted firmly in the centre. Pat was generous, courageous and FUN. He connected with people easily and effortlessly. It is hard to forget someone who gave us so much to remember.
Born in Edmonton, Alberta on April 4, 1947 to the late Fergus and Florence Moher. He is survived by seven of his siblings, Joe Moher (Mary), Glenda Hailes (Chuck), Betty-Ann Beaudry (Denis), Anna Scharfenberg (John), Fran Lambert (Moe), Ida Olsen (Jim) and Norine Nadeau (Rob). He was predeceased by his younger brother, Leo (Sandy). He will also always be remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Pat was full of life from a young age and an exceptional athlete in high school, most notably in football. His claim to fame was being part of back-to-back city championship titles for St. Mary’s in football. Pat loved watching sports his whole life whether on the television or as a regular at the Rogers Centre to cheer on the World Series winning Blue Jays or the Argos (unless his Eskies were in town of course).
Pat made the journey from Edmonton to Toronto after high school. This is where he met the love of his life, Marie Moher (nee Pagniello). They were happily married for 47 years and both shared a love of island travel, where they enjoyed sipping on greyhounds and walking on the beach. Pat and Marie had two daughters, Andrea and Patty, who would say without hesitation that they had the best “Pops” in the world. He didn’t miss a beat throughout their childhood, racing around from baseball fields, to track and field centres, to gyms and stages helping in any way that was needed. Pat welcomed his son in laws, Jay Campbell and Daryl Mason, like his own and was the best “G-Pops” to his four grandchildren, Shannon, Charlie, Mia and Max.
Pat had an exceptional career by all standards. He put himself through Ryerson working long hours at McDonald’s. After graduating, Pat started his career in advertising followed by an executive role at American Express winning the Award of Excellence for sales. The peak of his career was with the Personal Insurance Company where he served as President. While Pat was very skilled in sales and marketing, his real strength was in his ability to lead and motivate people. Anyone who worked with Pat knows his key “catch phrases” and many to this day consider Pat a pivotal part of their career journey. Pat retired as a Senior Vice President of Group Sales and Business Development with The Co-operators.
On top of it all Pat was a fighter. He recovered from Stage 3 esophagus cancer in 2012 and donated regularly to cancer research at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. In order to honour Pat, we have set up a donation page where you can donate to the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in his memory:

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family service is being held, but a celebration of life will occur at the Richmond Hill Golf Club this summer. He was a member of the golf course for years and has treated many to a round of golf, good conversation and of course some drinks. Please send an email to andreamoher@gmail.com if you would like to be added to the attendance list for that event. Until then, we ask that you raise a glass to Pat, laugh at a favourite memory, repeat one of his many sayings, and continue to demand the best from yourself in all parts of your life. He would expect nothing less.
