Church, Pamela Lee (nee Church)
Pamela Lee Church
Oct 5, 1957 – December 23, 2021
With great sorrow, the family of Pam Church announce her passing on December 23, 2021 in Brampton. Predeceased by her beloved parents, Joseph and Marjory Church, Pam will be deeply missed by her siblings Doug (Donna), Bev (Thom) and Patti (Don); and her nieces and nephews Julia (Sheldon), Spencer, Alison, Jackson, Emma, Sophia and Maya. She will also be greatly missed by the many friends in Shelburne and Orangeville who were her second family.
Pam was born in Cobourg, Ontario into the family of a roving geologist. She enjoyed the adventure of moving and grew up in Thompson, Manitoba; Farnham Common, England and Sudbury, Ontario where she completed high school. She studied Teaching at the University of Western Ontario, eventually establishing herself in Shelburne. She greatly enjoyed her career educating young people at Centre Dufferin District High School. She was active in the Shelburne and Orangeville communities, including her role as treasurer for both the Shepherd’s Cupboard Food Bank and the Monday Night at the Movies club. Pam sang in several choirs including over 20 years with the Westminster United Church Celebration Choir. She also greatly enjoyed being a member of the Canadian Federation of University Women. Among her many passions were her beloved (very spoiled) dogs, and travelling the world with her wonderful friends.
Pam was waiting for a liver transplant at the time of her passing. While it is too late for Pam, she would want us to take this opportunity to help the many others on that list. If you have not already, please take a moment to register as an organ donor at beadonor.ca or go to the UHN Living Liver Donor Program website. You could be the angel someone is so desperately seeking.
A Celebration of Life will take place in the spring of 2022, or as soon as it is safe for friends to gather and choirs to lift their voices in song.
If desired, donations may be made to the Shepherd’s Cupboard Food Bank in Shelburne or the Canadian Liver Foundation.
A tree will be planted in memory of Pamela in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville.
Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
