The family announces with great sorrow his passing in Sudbury, December 10, 2021 at the age of 91 years. Beloved husband of the late Estelle Lafortune, and second wife Eva Landry-Lanctot (née Rivette). Son of the late Edouard and the late Clérina (née Dupuis) Landry. Loving father to Michelle Landry (Normand Portelance), Marc Landry, Guy Landry (Mélissa) and his step-children, John Lanctot (Debbie), Hélène Charette (Pierre), Jacques Lanctot (Sharon) and Collette Caza (Daniel). He was the dear brother of Thérèse Beauchamp, Lilianne Courchesne (Pat) and Évangéline Kennedy (Arnold). He is predeceased by his siblings Antonio Landry (late Aline), Ernest Landry (late Gloria), Léon Landry (Margerie), Elizabelle Lahaie (late Claude), Valeska Gervais (late Fred), Jeannette Larose (late Gérard) and Lucienne (late Conrad). Cherished grandfather to Dale and Danielle and all other 19 step-grandchildren. Omé will be remembered as courageous, kind and proud. He was a devoted friend, husband, father and grandfather. He lived a full life, working in lumber camps at the age of 13, becoming a miner and shift boss at INCO, then security guard at Laurentian University and finally partner in real estate with his second wife Eva. He loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting. Many will recall the great host and tour guide he was to friends and relatives of all ages who visited Gouin Creek. The family would like to thank the staff at the Alzheimer’s Society, Elizabeth Centre and Red Oak Villa who helped take good care of their father. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, Sudbury. As per the family, there will be no visitation or service. Donations can be made by cheque or online to the Alzheimer’s Society. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
