Obituary of Noreen Frances Woods
Noreen Frances Woods passed away peacefully on August 15, 2021. Predeceased by parents Charles Richard Geissler and Pearl Marie Geissler (nee Dwyer) and husband Harold Gordon Woods. Survived by cousins Richard (Dick) Dwyer and Catherine Polci and extended family. Noreen was a former employee of Ontario Hydro. She lived life to the fullest and travelled extensively with her friend Betty Brooks. Noreen was a very special lady who touched the lives of all who met her. She will be remembered for her wit, kindness, generosity, and sense of independence. Noreen enjoyed people and was surrounded by wonderful neighbors and friends and extended family members who referred to her as Aunt Noreen. Noreen was blessed to have caring and compassionate care givers while at home from CCAC and VON, and later at Parkwood Palliative Care.
At Noreen’s request, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 11:00 am at St. Peter’s Cemetery (806 Victoria St, London, ON). Father Jim Mockler of St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica will be officiating. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, anyone wishing to attend the Graveside Service may register by email at donohue@donohuefuneralhome.ca or call 519-434-2708 with your first/last name and telephone number. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the London Food Bank, St. Joseph’s Hospitality Center or Parkwood Palliative care unit. As a reminder masks and 6ft social distancing is mandatory.
