Obituary of Nina DeCecco
It is with great sadness that the family announce Nina DeCecco passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital in the early hours of Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at the age of 65.
Nina was born in Cranbrook, B.C., on December 13, 1955, to her loving parents Norina and Vico DeCecco.
Nina was a resident of the Endicott Center for several years. She then lived with Colleen and Dwight.They were an absolutely wonderful family who considered Nina as part of their family.They took her on holidays, to church, shopping, cinema, theatre, etc.Afterwards she moved to a group home. Every year until the death of her father, Nina would go on holiday to Cranbrook to see her parents and family. Nina liked to socialize and was the life of a party. She enjoyed singing and dancing.
Nina is survived by her sister Lucy DeCecco and her husband Roland. Her niece Jennifer, her husband and their two children. Her niece Carole, as well as many cousins in Canada, Switzerland and Italy.
We would like to thank SASH – Danette, Cathy, Tami, Rhonda, Devon and all the staff for their support over the past years. A special thanks to Nina’s amazing caregiver, Clorinda and family who made Nina feel part of their family and especially to Clorinda for spending time in the hosptial with Nina during her last days.
We would also like to thank Dr.Balderston and the Palliative Staff at Chinook Regional Hospital. Also, special thanks to Hector.
Nina will be laid to rest with her parents in Cranbrook. A Celebration of Remembrance will be planned in Cranbrook in 2022.
