Nathaniel ( Natty)’s Obituary
The family of Nathaniel (Natty) Rubia announce his passing on October 13th, 2021 at the Health Science Complex in St. John’s at the age of 79 years. Leaving to mourn are his wife Patsy; Children; Stanley (Elsie), Denise, Alvina (John) Wilton, Todd, Loren ( Lori) and Brian. Grandchildren; Krystal (Bailey), Jennifer (Alex), Robyn, Shaun, Alyssa, Kyle, Jordan , Evan (Jessica) and Taylor. Great grandchildren; Cordell, Emmett, Thea, Scarlett, Charlie, Sutton, Chloe and Issac. Brothers; Cornie and Reggie. Also left to mourn are many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Natty was predeceased by his parents; Mable and Ted Rubia, Daughter; Darlene, Brothers; Allan and Winston and sisters; Jean and Violet.
Natty was an avid outdoorsman, known to many as a salmon guide, fisherman, moose hunter, catching rabbits and trapping beavers .He also enjoyed being in the woods looking for berries & hazelnuts or just riding on his quad .Natty loved to spend time in his garage tying flies ( that are known to anglers far & wide!) and listening to old country music. Along with this he also spent his downtime doing search words, solitaire, playing guitar, watching Three’s Company and western movies. Among other thing’s Natty had a few favorites when it came to meals; he loved his pea soup and mac n’ cheese and most of all chewing & cracking his juicy fruit gum.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel 63 North Main St. Deer Lake. In keeping with his wishes cremation will take place and inurnment will be at a later date.
