Obituary
With a sad heart and loving memories we would like to share the peaceful passing of Nancy Malo.
Whether you knew Nancy as a sibling, mom, aunt, grandma, Baba or friend, we all benefited from her wisdom and heartfelt advice. Her love of life touched the lives of all who knew her.
Nancy was born on January 28, 1928 in Brosseau, Alberta. She was the 4th child, and eldest daughter, of John and Elsie Bodnar. She moved to British Columbia when she was 28, where she raised her 4 children; Marlene (Roger), Violet (Kenny), Dale (Mervyn) and Farell, and nurtured many grand-children, great grand-children, and great great grand-children.
Nancy was a generous, compassionate, thoughtful, determined, resilient, creative, and adventurous lady with a great sense of humour.
She enjoyed playing crib, cards and dice; going bowling, to bingo and throwing horseshoes. Other passions include sewing, crafting, growing flowers, singing, painting Ukrainian Easter eggs, cooking, baking.
She was proud of her independence, learning to drive at 60, and her high scores in bowling. She was environmentally conscious before it was the norm; she always reused, repurposed and recycled. But her biggest accomplishment was being the matriarch of her wonderful family.
We would like to say a special thank you to the staff at The Summerland Senior Village for the care and kindness over the last few years.
And in the words she spoke so often “And that’s just the way it is.”
Always loved…
Never forgotten…
Forever missed…
