With great sadness and love the family of Molly Paluchowski announce her passing at Mountain Lake Seniors Community on the evening of October 31, 2021 with her great niece Gloria by her side.
Molly is survived by her son Ken (Sharon) Planden, daughter in law Beatrice Planden, grandchildren Patty (Russ) Evans, Karen (Dave) Jeffery, David (Laverne) Planden, Steven (Melissa) Planden, Jeffrey (Sue) Planden, Michelle (Russ) Dalgetty and 12 great grandchildren. Molly was predeceased by her son Harry Planden in 2006, husband Walter in 2015, parents, brothers, and sister.
Molly was born in Brilliant and lived in Blewett and Nelson. Her passion for knitting, crocheting and quilting was instilled at a young age by her mother. “If you weren’t making something useful with your hands you were wasting time.” Everyone in her family, as well as others, have received a quilt, doily or table cloth. Molly was generous and enjoyed everyone’s company. She had seen and experienced much change in the world but one thing that never changed was her love for her family.
The last twenty years of Molly’s working career was at Kootenay Lake General Hospital as a seamstress. She said that was the best job she ever had and made the best friends.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff and Dr Janz at Mountain Lake Senior Community for their compassion and excellent care they provided Molly from March 2019.
No service will be held at Molly’s request. A memorial will be held in 2022.
