Miriam Wisebord
On Wednesday, May 12, 2021. Passed away peacefully in her sleep at almost 93 years old. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Nathan Wisebord. Wonderful and adored mother and mother-in-law of Dr. Susan and Steven (Cummings), Daniel and Rachael, the late Dr. Stephen (Glenna Devine). Loving “Mimi” (grandmother) of Josh, Rachel and Ben, David, Nathalie and Jack, Chloe, and Thalia. Treasured great-grandmother of Jake, Sam, and Violet. Best friend and twin sister of Helen Lazarovitz (the late Moe). Predeceased by her dear siblings, Eileen (Moe Propst), Sonny, and Alec Myers. Daughter of the late Samuel and the late Gertrude Myers.
Only a week earlier, Miriam was at her home singing in the most charming way, nibbling candy in bed. Profoundly intelligent, fun, creative and admired. She was open to new ideas and new possibilities. Miriam knew what mattered and what to prioritize- love, hospitality, kindness and also learning. Straightforward, honest with tremendous courage during enormous heartbreak she led the way forward as if holding a light to follow. A loving marriage to our incredible Nathan with fantastic adventures in New York, Stowe & Hudson Ave. She was avant-garde and lived creatively. She inspired us. She was great company and we were all welcome in her embrace of love, wisdom, and culinary genius.
A private graveside service to take place. Donations in Miriam’s memory may be made to the Jewish General Hospital Foundation, (514) 340-8251.
