Mildred D. Orser
1928-2021
Mildred Drusilla (Craig) Orser
September 21, 1928 – March 27, 2021
Our beloved mother, Mildred (Craig) Orser completed her
earthly journey peacefully on March 27, 2021 at Central Carleton
Nursing Home in Hartland. She can tend God’s
flower garden and make tea for her loved ones in her new heavenly
home.
Mum was born in Armond to Elva and Elbridge
Craig. She grew up in Carlisle and moved to Hartland during
to the Second World War to work at the Dehydration Plant. She married
Eldon Orser and together they raised their four children in
Hartland.
Over the years Mum became known for her loving, loyal
devotion to her family; her strength of character; her kindness and
hospitality to everyone who came to her home; her wonderful homemaking
and cooking skills; and her « green thumb » with
plants. Whenever anyone met her they immediately liked her,
sensing her genuine warmth and kindness. If she knew someone
was in need she did what she could to help them, quietly and without
fanfare, reflecting her innate humbleness.
Mum was predeceased by Dad, her parents, her brother,
Gordon, and infant brother, Clinton. She is survived by her
children, Robert Orser, Ivan Orser, Randi Orser, and Tena McLellan;
grandchildren, Jeffrey Orser, Laura Zietak, and Lyne Marum; and great
grandchildren, Cora, Aimée and Elyse Orser, Katrina and
Chloë Zietak, and Léa and Zoé
Marum.
Although we are broken hearted we treasure our memories of
our wonderful mother. She was our loyal friend and advocate,
our wise counsel, and the one we turned to during happy and sad
times. We love her deeply and thank her for how she lived
her life in service to others.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Central Carleton
Nursing Home for their care and compassion shown to Mum while she
lived at the Home, and for the kindness and thoughtfulness to us
during our visits to see Mum.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from
1:00 to 2:00 p.m. from the Hartland Baptist Church. The funeral will
follow at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Dan Austin officiating. The interment
will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hartland at a later date. If so
desired, donations can be made to the Hartland Baptist Church or the
Central Carleton Nursing Home. Arrangements are under the care of the
Britton Funeral Home, 2 High Street Hartland. www.brittonfh.ca.
