Michael passed away peacefully with family by his side, in Waterloo on Saturday, March 20, in his 95th year. He was born on December 14, 1926 in Moenchsdorf, Siebenburgen, Romania.
Beloved husband of Sofia for 67 years. Loving father to Michael Gondosch Jr. and his wife Judy, and Karen Kwiatkowski and her husband Richard. Adored Opa to Cassie, Jeremy, Emily and Gillian. Great grandfather to Cedric, Beau, Kai, Jordy, Beno and Ana.
Predeceased by his mother Katarina, and his sister Katarina (Katie).
Michael came to Canada in 1949 and settled in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. He worked at Kaufman Rubber for 15 years and then spent the next 37 years working as a successful real estate salesman. He was a longtime member of the Transylvania Club and Pilgrim Lutheran Church where he served on various committees. Michael was a great tenor and his love of music had him participating in several choirs. The most important thing in his life was family, and he enjoyed spending many summers with Sofia, his children and grandchildren at the cottage on Lake Simcoe.
Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12 noon. Due to COVID-19 restriction, relatives and friends must register (RSVP) by calling the funeral home at 519-745-8445. A private visitation for immediate family will be held from 12 noon to 12:45 pm with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm with Reverend Enzo Pellini officiating. Interment at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery located at 243 Weber St. E., in Kitchener, will follow the funeral service.
