Michael “Mike” Edward Butler
May 29th, 1937 – August 28th, 2021
Michael “Uncle Mike” Butler passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 28th. He is now in the loving arms of Jesus and reunited with his dear family and friends.
Mike was born on May 29, 1937 in Victoria, BC and lived & worked in Trail, BC. He worked at Supervalu, the Trail Times as a delivery driver and retired from Teck. “Uncle” Mike lived the simple life & he enjoyed the many blessings that were given to him. He loved his sister, Trish, his twin brother, Tom, his three nieces like they were his own and his dog Joy. He will be remembered for his gift of conversation, his “goofy” personality and for the protection that he showed towards his family. He would spark up a conversation to just about anyone, anywhere. Whether it was in a line up at the bank, grocery store or on his walks to the park. He will be remembered for his love for his Redeemer, Jesus, his sister Trish, scenic drives to all the lakes in the area, cocker spaniel dogs, his favourite ball cap and walks to Gyro Park with Tom & Joy. He loved feeding the birds, the season of Fall & all the changing colors and enjoyed being with his family especially for celebrations. Mike has created special memories in our lives that will be long lasting.
Mike is predeceased by his parents Tom & Neil Butler and sister Patricia Butler. His twin brother, Tom, passed away shortly after he did. Survived by his three nieces Cheryl (Dennis) Venturini, Michelle (Richard) Davis and Barb (Vito) Romano and his great nieces & nephews – Ryan (Reanna) Davis – Mila & Lincoln, Matt (Caitlin) Davis – Reya, Meagan Davis and Shaun & Isabella Venturini.
A Graveside Service has already taken place at the Mountain View Cemetery. Gwen Ziprick of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ was entrusted with the arrangements. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in his memory to the SPCA.
