Mikey was born to proud parents, Wayne and Carol Penton, of Joe Batt’s Arm, Fogo Island, NL. He was the youngest of their four children. His mission was to make everyone laugh, poking the most fun at himself. When he spoke, we laughed, and when he sang, the room fell silent. Mikey peacefully passed away in his sleep during the morning hours of Feb 6th, 2021 due to health complications. In his short 22 years, Mikey’s presence touched the hearts of a significant amount of people. His supreme talent and humbling personality will live on forever in our hearts. His amazing voice will sing to us forever.
Predeceased by his Grandparents, Jack and Winny Penton, and his Grandfather, Alonzo Penton. Special Great Uncle Lambert Penton.
Left to mourn, with many memories: his parents, Wayne and Carol, siblings; Charlotte (Lily & Kayne); Katie (Paul, Ella & Allan); Jack (Monica & Ziggy) And of course his cats Tazzy and Felix. Grandmother; Lucy, Aunts and Uncles; Ferg (Gail & Foster), Caroline (Dan, Erin & Ian), Marlene (Cecil, Brandon, Tyler & Ashley), Bern, (Elaine & Natalie) Glen (Cavelle, Jayden & Reid), Lisa (John), Jason (Amanda, Maggie & Stella), Dave (Barb, Richard, Barry, Davie & Jenni) Special Uncle Reg Decker (Dane) Special Cousin Jennifer ton, friend who became a brother (Robert Kelly) and a tremendously large circle of extended family and friends, fans and musical fraternity.
Due to the imposed Province-wide Covid -19 regulations, we are very sad to inform you that Funeral Home visitation is permitted to family only. I know this will be hard for Mikey’s friends, but we want to keep you all safe. As the days pass, we will be sure to plan a celebration when it’s safe to do so. In the meantime, Mikey would like you all to celebrate and sing with him in your bubbles.
