Merlin “Merle” Adrian Brophy, husband of Faye (Underhill) Brophy of Upper Blackville, passes away at Bridgeview Hall on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the age of 86.
Born in Howard, NB, he was the son of the late Cavan and Loretta (Washburn) Brophy. He was a retired owner of Brophy’s Trucking and a member of St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife Faye, his sons; Calvin (Jill) of Upper Blackville and Adrian (Lisa) of Strathadam and his grandchildren; Stephen, Meghan and Thomas.
He was predeceased by his parents, sister Irma Hennessey and brother Lloyd and Alvin Brophy.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions there will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 am at St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Dan Bastarache officiating. Please Note: Masks and Social Distancing is mandatory. Burial will be in the family plot of St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Cemetery later in the spring.
In Merle’s memory, donations to Alzheimer’s Society of New Brunswick or St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church would be appreciated by the family.
