May’s Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we the family of the late May Hiscock (nee Lawrence) announce her peaceful passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL on Thursday, December 9th, 2021 at the age of 95 years. Born in Burgeo, NL, May was the daughter of the late Sarah and William Lawrence. She was also predeceased by her husband; Douglas Hiscock, brothers; Joe (Vera) Lawrence, Jack (John) Lawrence, Victor Lawrence, sisters; Rita (Freeman) Francis, and Mary Jane (Leslie) Harvey.
May leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories her loving son Rex (Trudy) Harvey, grandchildren; Melissa (Clifton) Strickland, Melanie (Coby) Wells, Matthew (Michelle) Harvey, great-grandchildren; Brady, Dylan, Kierra, Zackary, Brooklyn, Nora, brother; Kenny (Ruth) Lawrence, sister; Ivy (Ed) Herridge, and sister-in-law; Melita Lawrence.
May’s number one priority in life was her family. She was very family oriented and never turned anyone away. She was loved by all and her house was the best to be when everyone came home.
A special heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Mountain Hope Manor for the kindness, support and compassion given to May during her stay.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 11th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Sunday, December 12th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Isle aux Morts. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 13th, at 2 p.m. from the Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Isle aux Morts officiated by Rev. Edward Coleman. Due to the latest Government regulations your Newfoundland VaxPass, photo ID and masks are required for entry to the visitation and church service. Interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in May’s memory can be made to the Holy Spirit Anglican Church.
