Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at the Palace Long Term Care, Alexandria. Maurice Brunet of Alexandria; age 82 years. Beloved husband of Yolande Brunet (née Ménard). Loving father of Daniel Brunet (France) and Denis Brunet (Carole) both of Alexandria. Cherished grandfather of Maxime and Amélie Brunet, step grandfather to Dominic and Renée Larocque, and step great-grandfather of Trystan. Dear brother of Pierre Brunet (Madone) of Alexandria. Predeceased by his sister Jeannine Lanthier (late Marcel), by two brothers Richard Brunet (late Pauline), and Paul Brunet, and by his parents Bruno and Clara Brunet (née Boisvenue). Maurice and Yolande were proud 2nd generation owners of B&B Food Market in Alexandria for 27 years, a business Denis and Carole continue to operate today. Maurice also dedicated 40 years of his life as a volunteer fireman with the Alexandria Fire Department, including the last 3 as its Fire Chief. A private graveside committal service will be held at a later date. Arrangements under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main Street South, Alexandria (525-2772). As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to the Glengarry Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Maurice, a tree will be planted in a memory woods.
