Obituary of Mary Jane Ogilvie
OGILVIE , Mary Jane – age 93 of Nine Mile River, formerly of Elderbank, passed away in Oakwood Terrace, Dartmouth on August 23, 2021. Born in Nine Mile River, she was a daughter of the late Amos and Mary Jane “Dolly” (Henry) MacPhee.
Mary was a country girl at heart. She loved her family very much and was devoted to them her whole life. She loved kids, her pets and was a happy person. Mary enjoyed going to auctions and yard sales. You would always find the kettle on for tea when anyone stopped by. She was always eager to feed visitors. Mary knitted and rug hooked. She baked and cooked and would never let anyone leave the house without any goodies. Mary will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Leslie (Tony) Ellis; grandsons, Albert and Marshall; special niece, Ellen Rhind; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, Albert; sister, Blanche; brothers, Sutherland, George, Marshall, Amos Jr., Arthur and Douglas.
A visitation will be held 6-8pm on Monday, August 30th in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. A funeral service will take place 2pm, Tuesday, August 31st in the same location. Interment to follow in Elderbank Cemetery. Rev. Kim Curlett officiating.
